Goodwill rooftop billboard • Nakasero, Kampala

20 m × 5 m Rooftop Billboard Installation One 100 m² printed face positioned, tensioned and secured above Nakasero.

Kamog Artistry handled the rooftop preparation, movement of the extra-large PVC face, alignment, perimeter fixing, tensioning and final installation on the existing structure. The completed billboard now carries Goodwill and Crown Crane visibility above the surrounding Kampala streetscape.

Extra-large rooftop installation

The scale had to be controlled before the face left the rooftop floor

This was not a standard framed shopfront sign. The printed face occupied roughly 100 m² and had to be opened, oriented and moved without losing the edge position needed for final tensioning.

Existing rooftop structure

The installation began with the frame already above the building

The team worked from the rooftop around the existing steel structure. Tools, protective equipment and fixing materials were assembled beside the printed face so the banner could move from unfolding to alignment without being returned to ground level.

Opening the 20-metre face

Two team members led the rooftop unfolding sequence

The banner was opened progressively across the roof, exposing the complete Goodwill and Crown Crane artwork while keeping the material clear of the steel supports. This stage made the print orientation, top edge and lifting sequence visible before mounting began.

Rooftop fixing

Upper alignment and lower tensioning were handled as separate control points

The upper edge established the billboard’s position across the structure. Perimeter hooks and lower-edge tightening then drew the face firmly against the frame, with the side access used to keep tension consistent along the full span.

Exposed rooftop face

Wind pressure was addressed without cutting away the billboard’s structure

After the face was tensioned, controlled ventilation openings were introduced across the exposed area. Their purpose was to allow air passage and reduce pressure against the large rooftop surface while keeping the artwork readable from the street.

Client inspection

The completed installation was reviewed from the rooftop

The physical inspection brought the project team back to the installed face after fixing, tensioning and wind-pressure treatment. It closes the case study with the people who reviewed the work onsite, rather than with a generic completion statement.
